Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed. It was fantastic to see so many strong performances, personal bests, and swimmers taking part in their first gala. The effort, determination and team spirit shown throughout the afternoon made for a brilliant Club Championships.

Whether you achieved a new PB, raced a new event, or simply stepped up to compete, every swimmer should be proud of their performance.

A huge thank you to Mary and Claire for organising another successful Club Championships, and to Bob and Louise for refereeing the event.

We would also like to thank all of the officials and volunteers who helped the gala run so smoothly, including our coaches, timekeepers, judges, marshals, announcer, raffle team, door staff and everyone working behind the scenes.

Events like this are only possible because of the dedication of our volunteers. If you would like to get involved, particularly if you are a parent of one of our younger swimmers, we would love to hear from you.

Finally, thank you to all the parents, families and spectators who came along to support the swimmers. Your encouragement creates a fantastic atmosphere and makes a real difference to everyone taking part.

Entries are now open for the North Lancashire Summer Development Meet taking place at Palatine Leisure Centre, Blackpool on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2026.

This meet is open to all swimmers aged 9 years and above (as at 5th July 2026) currently training in Development Group and above squads.

We would like to see a large number of Chorley Marlins swimmers taking part.

The North Lancs Development Meet is an excellent meet for our swimmers to enter. It is also a great introduction for younger and newer swimmers to competitive swimming in an open meet environment, bringing together clubs from across the association in a friendly and competitive atmosphere.

Events include 50m, 100m and 200m of all strokes, along with 100m and 200m Individual Medley events.

Upper consideration times apply for this meet (swimmers cannot be faster than the published upper times), however there are no lower qualifying times. 

Please note: although Swim Manager is accepting “no time” entries, an entry time is required for all events before entries can be submitted by the club.

If your swimmer does not currently have a time for an event, please ask a coach to time them during training before the closing date.

As part of RLSS Drowning Prevention Week, Chorley Marlins ASC is delighted to announce the return of the popular Rookie Lifeguard Festival on Sunday 21st June 2026. 

The Rookie Lifeguard Festival is always a fantastic evening and gives swimmers the opportunity to learn and test lifesaving skills in a fun and competitive team environment. 

Throughout the evening, swimmers will compete in teams across a range of exciting activities and relay events including:

• Dinghy relay races
• Body board races
• T-shirt relays
• Rescue challenges
• Water safety activities

The event is open to all Chorley Marlins swimmers from Development Group and above and will take place at All Seasons Leisure Centre, Chorley, starting at 5:00pm.

Entries now open - Chorley Marlins Club Championships – Andrea Lawless Summer Meet will take place on Sunday 28th June 2026 at Darwen Leisure Centre. The gala will begin at 1:00pm. 

This gala is open to all swimmers currently training in Development Group and above. As this is one of our Club Championship events, all eligible swimmers are encouraged to enter — competitive swimming is at the heart of what we do as a club.

Events:

• 50m Freestyle
• 50m Backstroke
• 50m Breaststroke
• 50m Butterfly
• 200m Freestyle
• 400m Freestyle
• 100m Individual Medley

Development Group swimmers are invited to enter the 50m events and 100m Individual Medley.

Age groups will be based on the swimmer’s age on Sunday 28th June 2026.

Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the following age groups:

• 9 years & under
• 10 years
• 11 years
• 12 years
• 13 years
• 14 years & over

Please note: returning squad swimmers are not eligible for medals.

Skins Event

The top six swimmers in the 100m Individual Medley in each category (Open/Male and Female) will qualify for the Skins Event. If a swimmer chooses not to participate, their place will be offered to the next fastest swimmer (excluding squad swimmers).

The six qualifying swimmers will report to the starting blocks, where a stroke will be randomly selected. Swimmers will then race over 50m, with the slowest swimmer eliminated after each round. Races will restart every three minutes, with a new stroke drawn before each round, until one swimmer remains.

Darwen Leisure Centre offers excellent facilities, including an 8-lane, 25m competition-standard short course pool and ample tiered spectator seating.

As this is our own club championship gala, there are no minimum entry times required.

The closing date for entries is Friday 12th June via Swim Manager. Entries cannot be submitted after this date.

If you cannot see the event under “Meets” in the Swim Manager app, please log out and back in again.

Payment should be made at the time of entry submission by bank transfer to the competition account.

Congratulations to all swimmers who took part in Friday’s Splash ‘n’ Dash Sprints. It was a fantastic evening of fast-paced racing, with plenty of strong swims and a great number of new personal bests recorded.

There was an excellent atmosphere throughout the event, with swimmers supporting and encouraging their teammates, and it was great to see so many family members in attendance cheering from the sidelines.

Full results can be found below. We now look ahead to our next club event — the Andrea Lawless Summer Meet on 28th June — where swimmers will have another opportunity to build on these performances and push for further improvements.

A big thank you to Mary and Claire for organising the event, and to Louise for refereeing. We are also extremely grateful to all of our volunteers who gave their time to support the evening — events like this simply would not be possible without you.

Following the positive feedback received, we’re pleased that Splash ‘n’ Dash Sprints has been such a welcome addition to the competition calendar. Another event is already being planned for later in the year, providing further opportunities for swimmers — particularly those targeting County qualifying times.

After the success of hosting our first event in 2025, this is our second junior series Aquathlon to be held at the iconic venue of Stonyhurst College in Clitheroe.

It is hosted by the North West Talent Pathway, which consists of the Regional Academy and IRC Team and will be chip timed by What’s My Time!

All profits made from the event will go back into financially supporting the Regional Academy and IRC team.

We are excited to introduce a new event to our calendar of club competitions – Splash ‘n’ Dash Sprints. 

This fast-paced sprint meet will take place on Friday 24th April at All Seasons Leisure Centre and is designed to give swimmers more opportunities to race, record times, and track their progress.

​We’re keeping the format simple and accessible:
​

• All swimmers will compete in 50m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly
• Flat entry fee of £10 per swimmer
• Medals awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age group

As a competitive swimming club, providing regular racing opportunities is a key part of swimmer development. This event will allow swimmers to gain valuable competition experience and record official ranking times that can be used for future meet entries.

Importantly, this will take place in a familiar and supportive environment, with the pool fully set up for competition, including anti-wave lane ropes and starting blocks.

• Eligibility: Open to swimmers from Development Group upwards, including Masters
