Well done to the 10 swimmers that traveled to Leeds this weekend to represent Chorley Marlins in the City of Leeds October meet. They were-Lizzie Woodcock, Chloe Cottam, Milly Archangelo, Georgia Ashton, Ellie Anwyl, Isaac Brennand, Joe Archangelo, Scott Paynter, Bradley Astles and Jack Hardman. It was very over subscribed and there were over 1000 rejected entries in total, meaning that nearly all of our swimmers were rejected from at least one event. However, in the events that we remained in there were lots of Personal bests and 19 top ten finishes. Well done to our two finalists Lizzie Woodcock(100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly) and Jack Hardman(100 freestyle and 100 butterfly). Special mention goes to Joe Archangelo and Jack Hardman, who got bronze medals in the 10 years 50m breastroke and the 13/14 years 100m butterfly final respectively. This weekend, 29 of our swimmers travelled to Blackpool to compete in the Micro League Division A Swim Off. The aim of the competition was to finish in the top 2 and stay in the top Division. The team put in an amazing effort and did just that. For some of our older swimmers it was their very last micro league and they will therefore be competing in duel the pool later on this year. Everyone in the 12 year old age group got at least 2 first places in the relays as well as some getting wins in their individuals. What an amazing way to end their last micro league season! Well done to the individual winners- Lizzie Woodcock (12 yrs 50 free+ 50 fly) , Luka Hyam (12 yrs 50 back) , Isaac Brennand (11+12 yrs 50 fly) , Liam Hardman (11 yrs 50 free) , Joe Arcangelo (10 yrs 50 back + 50 free), Alex Fitzpatrick (10 yrs 25 fly) and Georgia Ashton (10 yrs 25 fly) The relays were also strong with the 11 year old boys and 12 year old boys and girls all winning both the medley and freestyle relays. |
