The annual Chorley and Leyland Shrimps Gala took place on the 11th of January at the All Seasons Leisure Centre. For those who are unfamiliar with this Gala, it is a great opportunity for both clubs younger swimmers usually aged 7 to 9 years of age to race competitively against each other. They can compete in all four strokes over a distance of 25m and are also timed so that they can monitor their own progress. It is also good preparation for swimmer who may be selected for the 9 and under Chorley Micro League Team which starts in March 2020. The club would like to congratulate all the young boys and girls that participated in the Gala, especially the 20 that represented the Marlins. Although our neighbours Leyland Barracudas fielded a significantly larger number of swimmers, we were still able to get some great results including:
A big thanks also to everyone at the club who helped organise and facilitate the Gala.
A reminder that membership renewal forms need to be returned and payment of the membership fees made by February 3rd. Forms were sent out by email around 8-10 December. Any questions please contact memberships@chorleymarlins.org.uk
