Burnley BOBCATS "Monster Splash" Halloween Level 3 Meet - 26th & 27th October 2024 - entries are now open. This meet returns for a second year after a successful debut proving very popular, expect Halloween themed medals and trophies, music, improved lighting, and there will be live streaming of the meet. Events are 50m, 100m, 200m for all strokes, plus 200IM. There will be FINALS for all 50 metre events. Open to Chorley Marlins swimmers from Development Group and above. Date - Sat and Sun 26th & 27th October 2024 Venue - Darwen Leisure Centre, The Green, Darwen. BB3 1PW Facilities - 25m pool complex with 8 lanes, anti-wave lane ropes and Swiss Timing Quantum timing system in operation with scoreboard display. The Leisure Centre has on site café facilities. There is parking onsite which is limited, however, there are numerous local parking facilities in the vicinity of the pool. Competition Age - Ages are as at midnight Sunday 27th October 2023 The Meet The meet will be held under Swim England Technical Rules and is licensed to Level 3. All swimmers must be members of a club affiliated to Swim England at Category Club Compete (old Cat 2) Level. The Female category is for birth sex females in accordance with Swim England’s Transgender and Non-Binary Competition Policy. By entering the ‘Female’ category, a swimmer confirms that their birth sex is female. The programme will cover 50m, 100m, 200m events for all strokes and all age groups. Entries will be seeded on a slowest to fastest time basis for all age groups within an event. Entry times should normally have been achieved in the twelve months prior to the event and converted to short course where appropriate. It is not essential however, that entry times have been achieved at a previous licensed open meet. Any submitted times must have been achieved at an agreed club time trial / timed event or endorsed by the club coaches. Awards Medals will be awarded to the first three placed swimmers in all events (including the Heats of the 50m), and for the following age groups:- • Female: 9 years, 10 years, 11 years, 12 years, 13 years, 14 years, 15years & Over • Male/Open: 9 years, 10 years, 11 years, 12 years, 13 years, 14 years, 15 years & Over Finals will be swum in the following age groups: • Female & Open: 9 & 10 years, 11 & 12 years, 13 & 14 years, 15years & Over • Male/Open: 9 & 10 years, 11 & 12 years, 13 & 14 years, 15 years & Over The winner of each final will receive a trophy. There will be no medals for the finals. Spectators and Live Streaming To avoid overcrowding event organisers would encourage there being one parent per swimmer in the spectator gallery. Price of entry will be £10 per person for the full day, or alternatively it will be £5 per session per person. Payment for spectators can be by cash or card on the door. The meet will also be live streamed onto the internet. The link will be posted on the Chorley Marlins website nearer to the time of the event. Qualifying Times This meet has upper limit qualifying times, swimmers times must not be faster than the published times to qualify for entry. Times can be found in the attachment below. Closing Date Extended to Tuesday 18th June Entries are now open for the North Lancashire Development Meet at Palatine Leisure Centre, Blackpool on Saturday and Sunday 6 & 7 July 2024 This gala will be open to all swimmers aged 9 yrs and above (as at 7th July 24) currently swimming in Development Group and above squads. This meet would is a good entry into to competitive swimming. We would like to see a large number of Chorley Marlins swimmers participating in this upcoming gala. Events will include 50m, 100m and 200m of all strokes, plus 100m and 200m IM. Times will be needed for entry. Please make poolside staff aware if there are specific events that swimmers require times for. Upper consideration times (qualifying times) apply for this meet. The table of consideration times can be found below, along with gala information and conditions and the programme of events. Entry fees are £4.50 per race, plus a £2.00 gala entry fee. Entries should be made through Swim Manager, the closing date for entries is Tuesday 18th June 2024. This gala offers an exciting opportunity to those new to competition to gain confidence and gala experience. This will take place on Sunday 16th June 2023 at Darwen Leisure Centre, The Green, Darwen BB3 1PW . Start time is 12.00 pm.
Entries should be submitted through Swim Manager. This gala is open to all squad swimmers currently training in Development Group and above. Events are: 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 50m Breaststroke, 50m Butterfly, 200m Freestyle and 400m Freestyle, and 100IM Note - Development Group swimmers should only enter the 50m events and 100 IM. Age will be as at age on Sunday 16th June. Medals will be awarded to 1st - 3rd place in each of the following age groups; 9 and under, 10yrs, 11yrs, 12yrs, 13yrs,14yrs and over (Squad swimmers are not eligible for medals). Skins Event - the top 6 swimmers in the 100iM in each category (Open/Male and Female) will be invited to swim in the skins event, should a swimmer choose not to take part in the event the place will be offered to the swimmer with the next fastest finishing time (excluding Squad). The six starting swimmers will make their way to the starting blocks, a stroke will be drawn out of a hat and swimmers will race 50m, with the slowest finisher being eliminated. Swimmers will then race 50M, starting every 3 minutes, with the stroke being drawn out of a hat prior to each start until just one swimmer remains. Darwen Leisure Centre has excellent facilities, the swimming pool is an 8 lane 25m competition standard Short Course Pool with ample tiered spectator seating. As this is our own club gala there are no minimum times needed for entry. The closing date for entries is 3rd June via Swim Manager - entries will not be able to be submitted after this date. Entries are now open for City of Liverpool SC Long Course Open, Splash “N” Dash - 50m sprints. Taking place on Sunday 9th June 2024 at Liverpool Aquatics Centre - Licenced at Level 3 No: 3NW240533. Events include all 50m sprints, and a Skins event (ages 14 yrs +, the fastest 8 girls and fastest 8 boys entering the event will qualify) Age groups - 9yrs, 10yrs, 11ys, 12yrs,13yrs, 14yrs, 15yrs and over. Age as at 9th June 2024. 200m IM Skins event - swimmers aged 14yrs and above are invited to enter the skins event. The fastest 8 male and female swimmers will be invited to compete. The skins competition is based on an individual medley, with all four strokes available to swim in each round. A random draw will take place before each round to decide the stroke to be swum. Races will take place 3 minutes apart as demonstrated below. At the end of each race, the swimmer who finishes last or is disqualified will be eliminated from the competition. Cash prizes will be awarded to the open/male and female swimmers finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Open to swimmers from Alphas, Improver, Intermediates, Juniors, JD, District and Squad. Entry fees will be £7.00 per event for each 50m event, £5.00 for entry into the skins event.
