The summer training break will be Monday 4th August to Sunday 17th August.
The final training sessions will be on Sunday 3rd August, with training resuming on Monday 18th August. Mini Marlins & Development Group final sessions are on Saturday 2nd August and will resume on Saturday 23rd. Following the break sessions that were previously at Leyland Leisure Centre will return there at the same times, either 2:00pm or 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. We hope you all have a great break. As a swimmer in a competitive club, you are expected to enter competitions. Our Club Championships are organised and run by the Club. All members are from Development Group upwards are strongly encouraged to enter and this can be a great learning experience for younger swimmers. Parental support is always required as volunteers are needed to help run these events. If you need any advice on entering meets please speak to a member of the coaching team or email Claire our Competition Secretary [email protected] Entries are open for the first gala that will take place after Summer. This will be the Wigan and Tyldesley Season Starter Meet that will take place on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September 2025 at the Wigan Life Centre. To take part in this gala a swimmer has to be 9 years old or over at Midnight on Sunday 14th September 2025. Whatever age the swimmer is at Midnight on the 14th September 2025 is the age they will race as. The age groups for this gala are 9/10/11/12/13/14/15 and 16/over. Please note for this gala swimmers must be 12 and over to enter the 400m IM and 400m Freestyle, however 9-11 year olds can enter all other events. Open to swimmers from Development Group and all squads. The Season Starter meet includes a SKINS events. Swimmers will qualify for the SKINS events by coming in the top 8 of the 200m IM in the 14 and under age group and the 15 and over age group. Swimmers will be invited to take a place in the SKINS events but can turn it down if they wish. If swimmers do turn down the chance to compete in the SKINS events we will then offer open places to the next 8 placed swimmers. More info can be found in the terms and conditions!!! Below you will find attachments including the terms and conditions, the programme for this gala and the consideration times. If the swimmer does not have an official time you can use time trial times, ask one of the coaches at training for a time. Times are required before submission, please email coaches forecasted times to [email protected] , stating swimmers name and event. Also when looking at the consideration times please beware that swimmers MUST NOT HAVE SWAM FASTER THAN THE UPPER QUALIFYING TIME to enter that race. Individuals Events: (Heat Declared)
Skins Event (14 years & Under; 15 years & over only) 8 fastest Swimmers 14 years & under; 15 years & over taken from 200m IM. If a swimmer decides not to take up the “invitation” then we will then backfill with the next fastest 8 swimmers only. Entries £6.00 per event. Awards Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, whose times are below the upper limit and will be awarded in the following age groups; 9 years, 10 years, 11 years, 12 years, 13 years, 14 years, 15 years, 16 & over. Closing date for entries Wednesday 30th July 2025. Please make payment at the time of submission. Unfortunately we have been informed by the leisure centre that Brinscall Swimming Pool is closed this evening, Thursday 17th July. Therefore there will be no training for Intermediates and Juniors today.

Well done to all the swimmers who competed in CMASC Andrea Lawless Summer Meet. Full results are attached below. A big thank you to all those that helped the gala run smoothly. Thanks to Mary and Claire for organising the meet. also Janice for refereeing and all the officials. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped without whom we wouldn't be able to run events like this. We are grateful for all the raffle prizes that were donated. The placings for each age group are calculated from the times recorded. This makes it possible for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for an age group to go to swimmers who competed in different heats and for a swimmer who placed 6th in their heat to be 1st overall in their age group. This is known as Heat Declared Winner. Medals will be presented at Chorley Marlins Summer Social & Presentation Evening. This will take place on Saturday 19th July at 7:30 to 11:30pm, St Joseph's Parish Centre, Harpers Lane, Chorley PR6 0HU Including presentation of medals from the meet, disco and buffet.
