Arrangements for the Wigan & Tydesley Season Starter Meet Attached below is the programme for this weekend's Season Starter Meet.
The building operator has asked that no form of camp chair or anything similar be brought into the building and used in any area. Anyone who does will be kindly asked to put it down and remove it from the building. Also, a second ask from the building operator is that no spectators or swimmers go into the corridor that takes you to the gym on the 2nd floor. This is situated upstairs opposite the spectator's area. Warm Up Morning warmups will begin at 8.10am and Afternoon warmups will begin at 1.20pm both days and this means racing will start at 9.10am and 2.20pm. Specific times for Chorley Marlins: Saturday morning Open/Males 08.25am to 08.40am Females 8.40am to 08.55am Saturday afternoon Females 1.20pm to 1.35pm Open/Males 2.05pm to 2.20pm Sunday morning Females 08.10am to 08.25am Open/Males 08.55am to 09.10am Sunday afternoon Open/Males 1.35pm to 1.50pm Females 1.50pm to 2.05pm Car Parking Parking around the pool can be tricky at times! If you follow this link wiganswimming.co.uk you will find a map of the surrounding area of the pool. Car park A is not always open at the moment so we would suggest avoiding that one. Car park B is the closest of the car parks but is chargeable 24 hours a day 7 days a week. However both Car parks C and D are free of charge to use over the weekend. There are a limited amount of disabled spots around the pool as well, these can be found on both Hewlett Street and Library Street. All information was correct at time of creation but please check the signage in the car parks before parking there just in case of any recent changes in rules. SKINS events Saturday will be the females with the open/male competition on the Sunday. The competitors who will qualify to compete in the SKINS event are the TOP 8 from the 14 and under age groups and the TOP 8 from the 15 and over age groups in the 200IM event. If swimmers finish in the two sets of top 8 positions as mentioned above, they will be asked if they would like to take part. If they would rather concentrate on the individual events in the afternoon that is totally understandable. If this is the case, they will try to back fill spaces and ask up to but no more than the next 8 swimmers if they would like to race. At the end of the morning sessions, they will start the SKINS event. The two age groups will race alternatively until there are winners of each age group. Cash prizes are in place for the Top 3 swimmers in the two age categories.
