Chorley Marlins Head Coach Mary Parkinson has been presented with the North Lancashire Swimming & Water Polo Association George Harris Salver.
The George Harris Salver award is available to the Club, Official, Teacher, Coach, Swimmer or Administrator deemed by the NLSWPA executive to have done the most to popularize or project the image of any of the various disciplines covered by Swim England laws, either within or for the association. “Mary has been a loyal champion of NLSWPA for many years in terms of her unstinting support for the Association’s Open Meet, swim League & swim Camps. She has been a valued and supportive Executive committee member and faithful in her regular attendance at meeting, always injecting an element of humour, particularly if Steve Heaps was also in attendance. Latterly she took on the role of Swim League Secretary with the concomitant aggravation that entailed regarding pool bookings. As a swimming coach, she always puts the swimmers interest first and I have no hesitation in recommending her for this ward.” Mary was presented with the award by Lee Scanlan, President of North Lancashire Swimming & Water Polo Association. Congratulations Mary from everyone at Chorley Marlins! Mary has received the North Lancashire Swim League 2024 Division 2 trophy from Lee Scanlan, President of North Lancashire Swimming & Water Polo Association on behalf of Chorley Marlins ASC.
Marlins topped the league table following three great performances winning every round of the competition securing promotion to Division 1. Congratulations to Mary and all the swimmers who were part of the team. Round 1 of the 2025 season takes place on Sunday 19th January at Darwen LC. |
