Temporary Closure of Chorley Leisure Centres
Chorley Council has made the following announcement regarding the management of All Seasons Leisure Centre, Clayton Green Leisure Centre and Brinscall Baths: Over the past 15 years All Seasons Leisure Centre, Clayton Green Sports Centre and Brinscall Swimming Pool have been run by Active Nation. As you may already be aware this contract is coming to an end of the 30th September 2020, with the contract was due to be taken over by another leisure operator on the 1st October. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the impact it has had on the leisure industry, the selected company is no longer in a position to take on the running of the centres. We know how important these facilities are to the local community, and so have decided to take over the operation of the venues in the Chorley contract ourselves. We think this provides a great opportunity to not only run the venues, but also to improve them; we have begun planning improvements to the buildings and to services to take place in the coming months. To facilitate a smooth take over, the venues will need to be closed for a short period of time – closing at 2pm on Wednesday 30th September and reopening on Monday 12th October. Each site remains open for the remainder of September as it has done for the last couple of months We are excited to move forward as your leisure provider and look forward to welcoming you into our venues again soon. Chorley Council As a result of the temporary closure of All Seasons and Brinscall Baths the last Chorley Marlins training sessions will be on Tuesday 29th September. Further announcements will be made once the Committee has had the opportunity to discuss this news. As soon as we have information regarding training times after the planned reopening on 12th October we will share it with members. It has been a very challenging year for Chorley Marlins and it is extremely disappointing that training has to be paused again. We are hopeful that, with the management of the leisure centres being taken over by the Council, the future will be better and more stable for Chorley Marlins. We would like to think that Chorley Council will be supportive of the Club and that we can get back to a full training schedule as soon as possible. Thank you to our members and their families for your continued support, it is very much appreciated. Comments are closed.
