 Chorley Marlins Club Championships – Distance Meet Supported by Classic Lodges classiclodges.co.uk Entries are now open for our Distance Meet. The main meet is on Sunday 17th November 12-5pm at Darwen Leisure Centre, The Green, Darwen BB3 1PW. Events for Development Group swimmers only: 50m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, 100m Individual Medley Events for Alpha Squad and above: 200m all strokes, 200m IM, 400m IM, 400m Freestyle. The 800m and 1500m events will take place on Friday 15th November at All seasons Leisure Centre from 7:00 pm. Open to swimmers 12+ from Junior Squad and above. Fees should be paid on entry, please make payment via bank transfer to Chorley Marlins Competition Account Barclays Account Account No. 73783138 Sort Code 20-69-85 As a competitive swimming club, our internal galas are important in the development of our swimmers. We would expect to see all Development Group and squad swimmers entering the gala. Age will be as on Sunday 17th November. Darwen Leisure Centre has excellent facilities, the swimming pool is an 8 lane 25m competition standard Short Course Pool with ample tiered spectator seating. As this is our own club gala there are no minimum times needed for entry. The closing date for entries is 1st November via Swim Manager - entries will not be able to be submitted after this date. The Programmes of Events are attached below Volunteers We rely on the support of volunteers to make these a success and simply cannot do it without help. We would like to hear from anyone who is willing to help out with one of the many roles as the meet such as chaperones and timekeeping. We need to have enough qualified timekeepers to be able to run the upcoming meet as we will be using all eight lanes. These can be anyone who has previously completed a course or those willing to do the course to qualify. The Swim England Timekeeping Course is online and can be completed anytime prior to the meet. The course covers what being a timekeeper is all about through an interactive e-learning which will take you between 60 and 90 minutes to complete, followed by a practical timekeeping session. This can be completed at an event such as the Distance Meet. You can find out more and sign up here. Raffle Prizes We would welcome any donations of bottles, gifts, wine, vouchers or chocolates etc. for raffle prizes Presentation Evening Chorley Marlins Family Social & Presentation Evening will take place on Saturday 23rd November at 7:30 to 11:30pm, St George’s Club, Trinity Rd, Chorley PR7 2DW. Including presentation of medals from Chorley Marlins Distance Meet , swimmer awards, disco and Carrs Pasties supper.
