Chorley Marlins ASC continues to review training during the coronavirus outbreak taking account of Swim England and Government guidance. We are also in consultation with the leisure centre operators, Active Nation.
We have taken the decision that Saturday 21st March will be the final Mini Marlins swimming lessons until further notice. This is due to the number of children involved and the amount of time out of the water. There are also more parent spectators in the cafe and on the balcony for these lessons. Training will continue as scheduled for all other swimming squads, but this is an ever-changing situation and other changes may be required. The Pool Water Treatment and Advisory Group has confirmed that coronavirus would be inactivated at the levels of chlorine used in swimming pools. The majority of the time is spent in the water during training sessions for the swim squads. Swimmers are reminded to shower before using the pool, to shower on leaving the pool and to follow the necessary hygiene precautions when visiting public places to help reduce the risk of infection. If you have any symptoms, a high temperature and / or a new continuous cough or have been in contact with anybody who has, you should not attend training. Spectators should follow government guidance on social distancing. Since the Sprint Meet has been postponed, Sunday evening training will run as normal at Chorley this week. There will be no morning training at Brinscall this Sunday. To keep up to date with training changes you can sign up for our newsletter here Comments are closed.
