 Chorley Marlins Amateur Swimming Club is excited to announce that we are recruiting for an Assistant Head Coach to join our dedicated coaching team. Established in 1973, Chorley Marlins ASC is a friendly, inclusive, and ambitious club based in Chorley, Lancashire. We are a SwimMark accredited club affiliated with Swim England, offering a pathway from Learn to Swim through to competitive squads. Over the years, our swimmers have achieved considerable success at County, Regional, and National level, and we continue to nurture the next generation of swimmers through expert coaching, teamwork, and a supportive club environment. The Role We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Head Coach who is passionate about swimmer development and eager to contribute to the continued success of the club. Working closely with our Head Coach, you’ll help plan and deliver progressive training programmes, mentor other coaches, and inspire swimmers to reach their full potential. This is a part-time, self-employed position (minimum 6.5 hours per week, including evening and weekend sessions) with an hourly rate of £15.00. You’ll also attend open meets and competitions throughout the season. Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will hold a Swim England Level 2 Coaching qualification (or equivalent), have experience in a club environment, and demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills. We’re particularly keen to hear from coaches who can bring energy, creativity, and a modern approach to swimmer development — someone who can motivate athletes of all ages and abilities, while supporting the wider coaching team. Even if you don’t meet every requirement listed, we’d still love to hear from you.
