Please either tick your name on the notice board or via the comments box below.
This year our sprint meet is to be held in honour of our friend and colleague Andrea Lawless, who sadly passed away recently. Andrea was a huge supporter of the club and a behind the scenes contributor for many years. Her help was readily forthcoming and much appreciated. Let's make this a gala to remember and hopefully, one she would be proud of. I would ask that every member of the club make the effort to attend.
The gala is to be held during the evenings of Sat 30th June and Sun 1st July 2012 at All Seaons leisure centre.
Please find all the information and entry forms under the internal galas tab.
Closing date is Sunday 17th June 2012.
Due to the increase in pool fees, it has been necessary to increase our training fees to cover the extra cost in hiring the pool.
The new fees are shown on the TRAINING/FEES tab above (LINK)
Can everyone ensure that their standing order gets changed to the new prices ASAP, so we don't have to chase people up for arrears.
I must apologise to our Club 3 and District swimmers for the late notice of cancellation for tonights session.
I was only told late last night that the leisure centre had cancelled our session due to the Swimathon, and rather than text last night I thought it better to text earlier today.
Or that was the plan, but due to a hectic day it completely slipped my mind and I failed to send the message out until 6:15pm.
I'm sorry to all those that turned up for training, please accept my apology and I shall endeavour to do better in the future.
It's not often we celebrate successes on here for anything not swimming related, but this week I had the privilege of watching 2 of our swimmers achieve something special outside of the pool.
I'm talking of the annual primary school cross country race held at Bishop Rawstorne school in Croston on Tuesday of this week. It was a great turn out with over 100 boys and 100 girls turning up to represent their schools in a 1200m race around the playing fields.
Imagine my surprise to see that the first 2 boys over the line were Chorley Marlins swimmers Jack Wilson and Ben Hughes. Jack just managed to hold off the strong challenge from Ben to cross the line in a very respectable 4min 33secs and take first place.
I was of course there to support Callan Sharples in this event who came home in 18th place just 25 secs behind Jack.
Can I take this opportunity to say a big WELL DONE to Jack, Ben and Callan for proving that fish really can run as well :)
Kevin (Callan's Dad)
