The final weekend of the 2013 Regional Champs is now over and the 2 swimmers we had representing Chorley Marlins were in excellent form yet again. Well done to Mariette Braithwaite & Alex Highcock, we're all proud of what you ave achieved this year.
Mariette qualified for and competed in the 100m Breast and 100m Freestyle, gaining a long course PB in both events, great going Mariette.
Alex Highcock was also in action in the 100m Breast and the 200m IM, smashing her PB's in both events by over 6 seconds. It was the breaststroke however where she excelled yet again, not only content with getting a National Qualifying Time (NQT) in the 200 Breast the week before she can now add the 100m Breast to that list as well. Alex qualified for the final in 4th and then went faster in the final in a time of 1:21.18 to finish in 4th by a fingertip finish, we'll have to work on the finishing Alex :)
Of course there were some of our swimmers, swimming under the Bolton Squad banner and it goes without saying we are proud of their achievements also.
Anna Doughty was in action in the individual 100m Breast, 200m IM & 100m Free and also a member of the 400m Free, 800m Free & 400m Medley relay teams. Such a busy weekend for Anna and she managed to reach the final in the all 3 of her individual events finishing 6th in the 100m Free, 4th in the 200m IM and taking the silver 2nd place in the 100m Breast. Anna also achieved a NQT for the 200m IM, Well done Anna, you're such an inspiration to all our younger swimmers.
Stephen Hancock was also having a busy weekend competing in the 400m IM, 200m Free, 400m Free, 100m Fly and the 200m Breast. Did you have time to breathe :) LOL. Well done Stephen keep up the hard work.
Jack Dandy was also proving how much of an accomplished swimmer he is with a great performance in the 200m Free to reach the final in 2:05.98. Jack also gave strong performances in the 100m Back, 100m Fly and the 400m Free. Well done Jack.
