League & Team Competitions

Team leagues give swimmers the chance to race for Chorley Marlins and experience the excitement of representing the club. There are 3 main league competitions that Chorley Marlins actively participate in and they are:

North West Micro League.

Micro League North West
  • Ages: 9–12 yrs (age as at the last Sunday in November).
  • Season: February – July, with finals and swim-offs in September.
  • Format: Individual and relay races for each age group.
  • Selection: Chosen by the Head Coach based on times and team balance.
  • Focus: Introduces younger swimmers to competitive racing and team spirit.

North Lancashire Swimming League.

North Lancashire Swimming League
  • Age groups: 12 & Under, 14 & Under, and Open (as at 30 June).
  • Format: Team gala with individual and relay events across the age groups.
  • Purpose: Builds experience for swimmers progressing from Micro League.

The National Arena Swimming League.

National Arena Swimming League
  • Age groups: 11 & Under, 13 & Under, 15 & Under, and Open (as at 31 December).
  • Rounds: Second Saturday of October, November and December.
  • Format: National competition involving 300+ clubs in six regional divisions.
  • Goal: Achieve strong team results and gain experience racing alongside the region’s best clubs.

Team Kit
Swimmers representing Chorley Marlins should wear the official club hat and t-shirt/hoodie.
