Squad
Squad Members are those swimmers who demonstrate exceptional ability, commitment, and potential. On the recommendation of the Head Coach, they may progress to train with a performance squad external to Chorley Marlins (for example, Bolton Metro or Preston Swimming Club), while retaining their connection with our club.

What progression involves
- Entry is subject to recommendation by the Head Coach and approval by the club committee.
- Although training may take place externally, these swimmers continue to represent Chorley Marlins in relevant competitions.
- They remain partly or fully involved in certain club events and community aspects.
Fees & membership
- Squad Members continue to pay the annual club fee plus Swim England membership.
- Additional training fees may apply depending on their external squad arrangement.
Lifetime Members
Lifetime Membership is awarded to swimmers who have trained with Chorley Marlins and have achieved national-level success in an individual event.

- Lifetime Members may or may not continue active training with the club, but remain honoured members. Chorley Marlins ASC
- They may represent Chorley Marlins in competitions where needed.
Fees & obligations
- Lifetime Members pay only the club and Swim England membership fees; monthly training fees are waived.
- Granting this status is by recommendation of the Head Coach and subject to Committee approval.
Why This Matters
These categories allow Chorley Marlins to honour swimmers who either continue to perform at a high level or have made outstanding contributions in the past. They preserve club continuity, prestige, and a sense of legacy, while enabling flexibility for swimmers who train elsewhere or scale back their training.
