British Gas / ASA North West Region Age Group Championships - Weekend 1

Well done to the 2 swimmers who represented Chorley Marlins in the first weekend of the regional championships.

Mariette Braithwaite qualified for, and competed in the 100m Fly. In the process breaking her PB in a time of 1:19.58, well done Mariette
Alex Highcock swam in the 400m IM in a time of 5:50.40, which is 2 seconds quicker than her short course PB.
Alex Highcock swam in the 200m Breast, qualifying for the final and finished 4th in a time of 2:53.67, thus giving her a National Qualifying Time. Well done Alex

Also well done to all those Chorley Marlins club members that swam for Bolton Squad at the regional championships.

Jack Dandy had a busy weekend competing in 3 relay events (800 free, 400 free, & 400 medley) with his Bolton teammates and competing individually in the 200m IM and the 100m Free. He finished 4th in the heats of the 100m Free to reach the final in a time of 56.49, and then went on to finish 6th in the 14 year old final. Well Done Jack.
Anna Doughty competed in the 200m Breast, 100m Fly, 100m Back and the 200m Free. It was the 200m Breast where Anna excelled finishing 3rd in the heats to qualify for the final, in which she again finished 3rd in a time of 2:45.06, well done Anna.
Stephen Hancock qualified for 3 events, the 100m Breast, 200m Back and the 200m IM. Stephen obtained PB's in all 3 events with the 100m breast proving to be his best, with him finishing 10th overall in a time of 1:26.56, well done Stephen.

A big CONGRATULATIONS for all those swimmers who through hard work and determination in training have proved why the North West is such a formidable swimming region.
