Well done to the 30 swimmers who competed at the Liverpool Splash and Dash Gala on Valentine’s Day. Seventeen of them hadn’t ever competed in a 50m long course pool and a further eight children were swimming some of their strokes in a 50m pool for the first time. They did the club proud and swam extremely well in a new environment, achieving their first long course personal best times to be recorded on the ASA website.
Of the children, who already had some long course times, the boys achieved 62% new PB's and the girls 57%. A special well done to Holly McHugh who achieved long course PB's for all four strokes. Congratulations to our medallists: Jordon O’Hara, 14 years age group: Gold in the 50 free. Lizzie Woodcock, 13 years age group: Gold 50 Fly, Silver 50 Back and Bronze 50 Breast. Unfortunately Lizzie was too fast to even be entered into the 50 Free so was unable to compete in this event. Anna Doughty, 15years and over age group: Gold 50m Free, Silver 50m Fly, Silver 50m Breast, Bronze 50 Back and Gold in the 14/over Skins competition. As usual the children’s behaviour on poolside was excellent and they were a credit to their families and our club. Well done to you all.
