We have received the following handouts and information from Rachel Bartholomew the nutritionist that did the workshop earlier this month. The workshop worked really well and we hoped our swimmers benefited from it, but we'll see if you've taken anything on board when Rachel returns :)

Please note that 50m training this weekend is for those swimmers that attended the last session as they will be the ones representing Chorley Marlins at the County Championships in the coming weeks.
EDIT: Training is from 7-8:30pm You MUST renew your club and ASA membership with the club by this coming Sunday 3rd March or else you will not be allowed to train with the club as your insurance will be void.
Please take the time to check if you have renewed, and if you haven't then please do so ASAP the last thing we want to do is stop you from swimming but we must if you're not registered. Any queries please email [email protected] Please note that there has been a change in the entry form for the above gala to the one that was published. The correct form is now attached to the pack under 'open galas' tab on the home page. Please ignore the line re who to make cheques payable to, this should be to 'chorley marlins asc' as usual. The rest of the information re qt's and schedule etc is still correct.
Apologies Ashley Comp Sec It's that time of year again and Micro League fixtures are upon us, please see the attached Team Sheet and let Mary know if you're available. Either tick the sheet on the notice board at All Seasons or add a comment below.
As you can see we are short on boys this year especially the 9 year olds, it's our intention to swim some 10's in the 9's events but of course we will not score points for those events. Thanks UPDATE: There will be a coach providing the swimmers with transport to Lancaster Salt Ayre. Please use the bus provided, there will be a small surcharge per person to cover some of the cost of the bus with the rest being subsidised by the club. The coach will leave All Seasons at 4pm. There are currently four galas on our calendar over the next three months or so: Lancs county champs, BMSS, Wrexham and Blackpool Rocks (entries for Wrexham have closed). The BMSS gala was added to the calendar for the benefit of our younger swimmers/those new to galas as the entry times are very generous and the gala is only over one day. Please take the opportunity to enter if you are in this category. We are a competitive club yet only approx about a quarter of our members enter galas. If you have any queries about entering this or any other gala please speak to any of the coaches or e-mail me at [email protected].
The BMSS gala will also be the last opportunity to obtain a Regional champs qualifying time for those who this may apply to. For our regular competitors, particularly those with County times and/or who have entered Wrexham, please think carefully about the galas and events within them that you enter so as not to do too much. We also have Microleague and North Lancs team fixtures over this period. It is not necessary to enter all the galas advertised, we have tried to provide a selection to suit everyone. Ashley Competitiono High Schools GalaPlease note that due to the High Schools gala this coming Wednesday 13th Feb there will be no training for Juniors. They will be offered an alternate swim on either the following Friday 15th 7-8pm or they could train with Intemediates at Brinscall Wednesday 13th Feb, please see your coach to organise this. District swimming session will be cut short and will be on the same evening but only 9-10pm Duel in the poolMonday the 11th Feb is the next round of the Duel in the pool series and will be held at Chorley during normal training.
This of course means that if you are not swimming in the gala then you will have to train at Leyland instead. The entry froms and information for the above gala can now be found under the 'galas' and 'open comps' tab on the homepage and on the notice board at All Seasons.
Closing date is Sunday 14th April 2013. Any queries re any of the galas to [email protected] pls. The entry forms and information regarding the above gala can now be found under 'galas' and 'open comps' tab on the home page and also on the All Seasons notice board.
Closing date is Sunday 3rd March 2013. On Sunday the 10th February starting at 5:30pm there will be a nutrition workshop for Junior and District swimmers only. The aforementioned need to be at Chorley for 5.30pm where they will take part in a workshop with Rachel Bartholemew regarding nutrition and in particular preparing for Competitions. Each swimmer should bring a simple break down of how they prepare for competition regarding nutrition and what snacks they would take with them to such events. Parents are encouraged to be present as well as any available coach, helper. The workshop is free to those taking part and will be followed up by 3 monthly reviews of the swimmers improvements in this area - hopefully :) There will be no Land Training on this day for Juniors & District, but land training is still on for Intermediates, I'm sure the land training team will appreciate the quiet session for once LOL |
