Please note the following cancelled sessions in June:
After a great weekends swimming at Blackpool Rocks we have to take time to congratulate Alex Highcock in achieving an outstanding 2:48.89 in her 200m breaststroke. This not only gave her the gold medal at Blackpool but also a second under the National Qualifying Time of 2:49.83. All Alex needs to do now is repeat the same time at the Regional Championships next week to be able to enter the Nationals in July. Such a great achievement at such a young age Well Done Alex, we're all proud of you and Chorley Marlins will be cheering you on and wishing you well. A full roundup of the weekends events will be listed in the "gala reports" section of the website as soon as results are available. We've been asked by the leisure center to ask for volunteers to help put the starting blocks out before gala's or during training sessions where the blocks will be utilized. Please let Andy Highcock know if you are interested in helping out. You will have to attend a course run by All Seasons to be able to be qualified to put them out for health and safety reasons. Ideally we need a couple of volunteers from each squad so that if they are needed during training you could help out. Please either register your details by commenting below or contact Andy on [email protected] Or indeed if you would like to help out in any way you can then you are most welcome we are always on the lookout for volunteers, please contact Andy. Relay entries have been submitted for the boys 12/u, girls 10/u, girls 12/u and the girls 14/u in both free and medley events for the Worksop gala in Sheffield. There were insufficient entrants to submit any other boys teams.
To decide the final places where appropriate, times will be taken into account from our own sprint gala in June. The club has kindly agreed to pay for the fees for these entries. Regards Ashley Could we please ask that anyone who received a trophy at last years gala could they return it to the club as soon as they can. Saturday 15th June: There is a Micro League gala being hosted by us at Chorley therefore there will be no Mini Marlins lessons and there will be no training for Junior and District squads. Saturday & Sunday 29th-30th June:
These are the dates of our own annual Sprint meet being held at Chorley, therefore there will be no training this weekend at all. There will be no training at Brinscall either on the Saturday morning for Intermediates, Mini's and Alpha's, or the Sunday morning for Juniors, District and Club3. Please be aware that on Monday 27th May the leisure centre will close at 4pm so there will be no training available for Juniors, District,Club3 & Masters.
Thanks Please find information and entry forms under the 'galas' tab - sub-heading 'internal galas' on the homepage.
These will also be available beneath the notice board at All Seasons in due course. Closing date is Sunday 23rd June 2013. Late entries will NOT be accepted. This is a reminder that the closing date for the Worksop gala is this Sunday, the 19th May at 8pm.
No late entries can be accepted as the gala is on a first come first served basis so entries need to be in quickly. I am aware that there is a Microleague team gala on this Sunday and many of you may not be training so please take this into account. Kind Regards Ashley |
