Tickets are selling fast for the Chorley Marlins Summer Social & Presentation Evening taking place this Saturday. The evening includes presentation of medals from the Andrea Lawless Summer Meet, disco and buffet. Saturday 2nd July at 7:30 to 11:30pm, St George’s Club, Trinity Rd, Chorley PR7 2DW. Tickets £5 adults and £2.50 for children. Please email [email protected] for tickets. Could families who have already ordered tickets please make payment to the same account as training fees are paid into: Sort Code: 20-69-85 A/c Number: 73040828 A/c Chorley Marlins ASC Please add the swimmers name as reference  Entries close on Thursday 30th for the North Lancs Sprint Meet taking place on Saturday 16th July at Palatine Leisure Centre, St Anne's Road, Blackpool FY4 2AP. This meet is open to swimmers aged 14 years and under from Development Group, Alphas, Improvers, Intermediates, and Juniors. Swimmers must be at least 9 years old on 16th July.
Entries should be made through Swim Manager, to enter go to Meets. 
We would like to remind members of the importance of being on time for training. Swimmers should be ready with their swimming cap and goggles on at the beginning of training, for example at 8:00pm. Late arrival disrupts training for other members of the squad.
Swimmers should have the correct kit with them including a drinks bottle, kick board, pull buoy, and fins to aid their training. Purchasing kit using one of the links below helps the club.

 Due to the Rookie Lifeguard Festival there will be no training at Chorley on Saturday evening (25th June), swimmers can instead swim at Leyland Leisure Centre in the afternoon. Groups who swim at 5:00pm should swim at 2:00pm at Leyland and the 5:30pm group should swim at 2:30pm.
 Swim England Competitive Swimming Performance (CSP) Awards The CSP award scheme aims to reward young swimmers in their first years of competitive swimming, encouraging them to focus on their strokes, turns and finishes, as well as speed in order to achieve better swim times for each stroke. There are 3 types of performance award which relate to the length of the swim:
Times for each stroke are graded at 4 levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Once a swimmer achieves or breaks a time for any stroke at that level they can claim a cloth badge which relates to the distance (ie Sprint Bronze Award) and the relevant stroke flash (ie Bronze Butterfly Flash). Swimmers can track their progress by collecting further flashes as times are achieved for each stroke at that distance. The awards can be achieved in competition or at organized time trials. The performance table below shows the length of the pool, distance, stroke and times required to achieve these awards. The CSP Awards can be purchased through the club by emailing [email protected] Please can orders be submitted by 8th July Distance Awards (certificate & woven badge) £3.50 Stroke flash £1.50 Here is an example of where and how the awards can be sewn on to the swimmers T-shirt, showing the different grades and strokes achieved by the swimmer.   PBs can be checked on Swim Manager to see if your swimmer has achieved the requirements. Times have not yet been updated with results from the recent Club championships which can be viewed here.
 For members who have recently completed any of the SE Swimming Challenge Awards, certificates and pin badges can be purchased for the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Honours Awards.
