A reminder that all Chorley Marlins training is currently suspended following the temporary closure of All Seasons and Brinscall Swimming Pool.
The leisure centres are due to reopen on Monday 12th October following Chorley Council bringing the management in house. As soon as we have information regarding training times after the planned reopening we will share it with members. We hope that we will be offered enough pool time by the new management to be able to resume a full training schedule. Temporary Closure of Chorley Leisure Centres
Chorley Council has made the following announcement regarding the management of All Seasons Leisure Centre, Clayton Green Leisure Centre and Brinscall Baths: Over the past 15 years All Seasons Leisure Centre, Clayton Green Sports Centre and Brinscall Swimming Pool have been run by Active Nation. As you may already be aware this contract is coming to an end of the 30th September 2020, with the contract was due to be taken over by another leisure operator on the 1st October. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the impact it has had on the leisure industry, the selected company is no longer in a position to take on the running of the centres. We know how important these facilities are to the local community, and so have decided to take over the operation of the venues in the Chorley contract ourselves. We think this provides a great opportunity to not only run the venues, but also to improve them; we have begun planning improvements to the buildings and to services to take place in the coming months. To facilitate a smooth take over, the venues will need to be closed for a short period of time – closing at 2pm on Wednesday 30th September and reopening on Monday 12th October. Each site remains open for the remainder of September as it has done for the last couple of months We are excited to move forward as your leisure provider and look forward to welcoming you into our venues again soon. Chorley Council As a result of the temporary closure of All Seasons and Brinscall Baths the last Chorley Marlins training sessions will be on Tuesday 29th September. Further announcements will be made once the Committee has had the opportunity to discuss this news. As soon as we have information regarding training times after the planned reopening on 12th October we will share it with members. It has been a very challenging year for Chorley Marlins and it is extremely disappointing that training has to be paused again. We are hopeful that, with the management of the leisure centres being taken over by the Council, the future will be better and more stable for Chorley Marlins. We would like to think that Chorley Council will be supportive of the Club and that we can get back to a full training schedule as soon as possible. Thank you to our members and their families for your continued support, it is very much appreciated. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we continue our return to training. We have received payment of training fees from the majority of members for September. However there are a few that have not yet restarted their standing orders or made payment this month and may have missed the emails sent out.
All Squads (excluding Minis & Development Group): We would be grateful if members could restart their standing orders for your normal pre-lockdown monthly fees by Friday 25th September. Training fees can be viewed here. Mini Marlins & Development Squad: We would be grateful if members could make payment by Friday 25th September for the three sessions that we ran for Minis and Development Squad at Leyland Leisure Centre on Saturday 12th, Saturday 19th, & Saturday 26th September. The training fees are £15 for the three weeks at Leyland. Sort Code: 20-69-85 A/c Number: 73040828 A/c Name: Chorley Marlins ASC. Please add the swimmers name as reference. Any questions please email [email protected] Additional Coronavirus restrictions come into force for Lancashire from Tuesday 22 September.
It is important that as a Club we are doing all we can to minimise the risk of transmission and keep our swimmers, coaches, and families safe. We are therefore asking that swimmers, coaches, volunteers and parents / carers now wear a face covering when entering the building unless exempt. It is optional for children under the age of 11 as they are not required by law to wear face coverings. Swimmers and coaches may remove their face coverings on poolside immediately prior to the commencement of the session and will be asked to put the face covering on before leaving the poolside. It is recommended that they have a named small plastic bag to keep their face covering in during training. We would also like to remind all members of the importance of social distancing when entering and exiting the building. As previously announced Minis and Development Squad will be running at Leyland Leisure Centre for the next three Saturdays. We are pleased to have secured pool time there for Saturday 12th, Saturday 19th, & Saturday 26th September. Full details of the times can be read here. The training fees are £15 for the three weeks. For those who have paid for one or both of the cancelled Minis sessions at Brinscall please deduct either £5 or £10 from this. Please make payment before the weekend. This is not required if you have restarted your standing order and made payment this month. Sort Code: 20-69-85 A/c Number: 73040828 A/c Name: Chorley Marlins ASC Please add the swimmers name as reference. As announced here yesterday, once a Health Screening Form has been completed it is not necessary to bring forms to subsequent training sessions, but the Club must be informed of any changes. A Health Screening form is attached below to complete and bring along this Saturday. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday and thank you for your continued support. ![]()
We are able to make a simplification to our Covid Protocols. For those who have completed health screening forms dated 7th September or after, you no longer need to complete a form for each training session attended.
We will be asking you to sign a declaration confirming that the Club will be informed if your swimmers situation changes and they have symptoms or test positive. In this case they would obviously be unable to attend swimming. If you have not yet attended a training session this week please complete a Covid Health Screen form when you next attend. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we continue our return to training. Below we have an update on the training times for squads for weeks commencing 7th, 14th and 21st September.
As you will be aware, we are working with restrictions on the number of swimmers allowed and double width lanes but still have pool hire and coaching costs to cover so it costs us more to run each session per swimmer. Since our return to training we have been charging a per session fee, we have secured more pool time so are now able to reduce the fees you have temporarily been paying. Can members please restart standing orders for your normal pre-lockdown monthly fees by Friday 11th September. As more pool time becomes available and we return to a full training schedule there will be no increase in these fees. We have tried to give each squad as much pool time as we possibly can whilst the restrictions are in place and hope to secure more pool time in the coming weeks. Training fees can be viewed here. Mary and the Coaches look forward to seeing you at training. Thanks again for your continued support - as always, it is very much appreciated. Having spoken with many of you we know you are just as keen as we are to get our Mini Marlins back in the pool. Mary and the team have been working hard to rearrange training times and put in place the necessary measures to ensure a safe return for all our swimmers. Following reopening, pool time at All Seasons Leisure Centre is currently unavailable to the club, and so we have managed to secure pool time at Leyland Leisure Centre in order for our Minis to resume. The following session times have been confirmed for Saturday 12th, Saturday 19th, & Saturday 26th September.
Please be aware we have had to implement a number of changes to ensure we keep our swimmers and coaches safe.
We are aware that a number of swimmers are in credit due to the cancellations at Brinscall pool in August. Further information will be sent out via email with regard to session payment. The coaching staff and Committee would like to thank you all for your continued support, we look forward to seeing you all back at the pool very soon. ![]()
