We hope you and your families are keeping well.
As Lockdown 2 is due to come to an end next week we would like to update you on training. Training is normally suspended for two weeks in December for the Christmas break and sessions normally have lower attendance levels, therefore we have decided to delay the resumption of Chorley Marlins training until week commencing 4th January 2021. We will provide further details of this nearer the time. Some members have made payment for November training fees, this can be carried forwards or a refund can be requested by emailing [email protected] Our hope is that in 2021 the situation will improve and that training will return to normal levels as more pool time becomes available and restrictions are eased. Swim England has produced a roadmap for the return to swimming competition with Level 4 competitions delivered by clubs in the first instance once government guidelines and the situation re the pandemic allows. There is work to do to build the Club after a very challenging year and we would like to hear from anyone who could give some time to help out and there are opportunities to get involved with the Committee. Thank you for your continued support. Unfortunately, due to the second national lockdown restrictions all our training sessions will remain suspended.
We hope to resume training in early December subject to any further Government announcements and the reopening of the swimming pools. During the lockdown period Chorley Marlins Covid-19 Protocols will be reviewed. We will work with the Leisure Centre management and the Council to plan for a safe return to training at the earliest opportunity. We know this is disappointing and how important swimming is to so many of our members who have worked hard to regain their fitness after the first lockdown. Remaining active and healthy is a key part of the battle against Covid-19. It continues to be a challenging time for grassroots sport clubs and leisure facilities which are essential so that everyone continues to have the opportunity to participate in the sports they love and be physically active. You can read and sign Swim England's open letter to the Prime Minister here. We hope you and your families remain safe and well during this trying time. Thank you for your continued support. |
