Data needs to be submitted each week for those taking part in the Summer Challenge - Around the World in 53 days.
Please submit the distance in kilometres achieved for the week using the JotForm link below: https://form.jotform.com/201992399743368 Swimmers and parents should follow the link on a Sunday, look for their name and submit the weeks results. Strava data is not required for the challenge. The Challenge runs until 18th September 2020 and is for Club Members aged 10 and over. Leyland Barracudas and Chorley Marlins as one big team! 40,075 Kilometres to complete as a team! Starts 27th July 2020, finishes 18th September 2020 For Club Members 10 and over. Monday 29th June 2020 – Sunday 12th July 2020 The results are in… In the first week Chorley Marlins achieved a total distance of 391 km between 10 swimmers. Moreover, Leyland Barracudas achieved a total distance of 1624 km between 31 swimmers, this result was factored to give a final total of 650 km for Leyland Barracudas. Well done to Tom and Ethan Roberts from Leyland Barracudas achieving the highest overall for week 1 with an amazing distance of 282 km each! We collated the results for both weeks and we concluded that Leyland Barracudas have a total distance of 3273 km and Chorley Marlins have a total distance of 1480 km. Well done to Ewan Smallwood from Chorley Marlins achieving the highest distance overall for week 2 with an astounding distance of 332.42 km, that’s 47.49 km a day!! These results were factored to make it a fair challenge and the final results are as follows. Chorley Marlins achieved an overall distance of 1480 km. However, Leyland Barracudas just took the lead with an overall distance of 1636 km. Just taking the lead by +156 km. Well done to all swimmers who took part in this challenge. Congratulations Leyland Barracudas! Full results are attached below. At the end of June, we sent out a questionnaire regarding returning to training. A lot have been returned but in case some families missed the email the survey regarding your swimmers intention to return to swimming it is attached below. Despite the length of time we have been unable to train, we are looking forward to seeing everyone, hopefully soon. Active Nation plan to reopen the pool on the 10th August but we have no exact date as to when we can return to training. In anticipation of a start date soon after we want to be ready to start asap. With that in mind, so we can arrange pool time and prepare training sessions, if you have not yet completed the questionnaire we would be grateful if you could confirm your place and complete the attached survey for Chorley Marlins We will be in touch once we have more information. The Lockdown Challenge against Leyland Barracudas has now come to an end. Congratulations to all those who took part. Hopefully it has helped to build up your fitness in readiness for a return to the pool. In total twenty one Chorley Marlins swimmers and parents entered the challenge. So far results have been received from twelve entrants for week one. The results for the week are attached below. Last week Ewan was the top achiever. Can all remaining results please be sent through this evening. These can be emailed to [email protected]. Please include your name and how many kilometres you completed each day, Monday to Sunday. All results to the end of week 2 need to be received so that they can be sent through to Leyland in order to calculate each teams total distance completed.
We are now halfway through the Lockdown Challenge so data for the first week needs to be submitted.

For those who have not joined the Facebook group can you please submit your data for the first week by email to [email protected].
