Now that there is a date of 12th April to work toward for the reopening of the pools we have received some more Membership Renewal Forms back. For some of these forms we have not received payment of membership fees so are unable to process and submit to Swim England.
To be able to swim once training resumes swimmers need to have renewed their Swim England membership so that they are insured. The Leisure Centre will open again with reduced opening hours initially. Therefore there will be limited availability of pool time meaning the training schedule will have to be carefully planned. Mary will be allocating pool time based on members who have completed their Swim England membership renewal. For those who want to re-join at a later date there may be a wait until space becomes available. If you wish to renew your membership please do so as soon as possible to secure your place, see here. For those who have not yet made payment but are in credit with their training fees, this can be used to cover their Swim England fee. Please email Bev or Claire if you want this to be used, [email protected] or [email protected] The coaches, teachers and volunteers are looking forward to seeing our swimmers back in the pool training again. An update on the return to training for squads will follow once this has been agreed. Chorley Marlins have joined VMeetSwim, this is an exciting new programme. There are clubs from all over the country and as far away as Hong Kong and America. The programme invites clubs to challenges such as swimming and land based activities. Although we can’t get in the water just yet, there are still opportunities to stay active!
On VMeetSwim the swimmers control their own profile and input the information for challenges they have done. This gives them more control and responsibility and sets goals. They also go on the main rankings and see how they compare to other swimmers. The swimmers must use their own email address, there is no visual contact. We are opening it up to Juniors and above to start with. Have a look at the website site by following the link below. Look at the teams and find Chorley Marlins and sign up. VMeetSwim Get ready for your return to the pool - Fitter, Stronger, Faster, Together! We are planning for the resumption of Mini Marlins sessions from Saturday 17th April.
Unfortunately, our normal pool time for Minis at All Seasons Chorley on Saturdays 5-7 pm is not available as the Leisure Centre will reopen again with limited opening hours at weekends. We hope that the Leisure Centre management / Chorley Council will quickly extend the opening hours so that we can return to our traditional slot. We do feel it is important to get our younger swimmers back in the pool at the earliest opportunity. Fortunately, Leyland Leisure Centre has been accommodating and Mary has managed to arrange pool time there for Minis on Saturday afternoons 2-3 pm from Saturday 17th April. Pool time will be allocated to swimmers who have renewed their Swim England membership so are therefore insured to swim. See here The coaches, teachers and volunteers are looking forward to seeing our swimmers back in the pool training again. An update on the return to training for squads will follow once this has been agreed. |
