Can I please remind all parents that entry forms for any gala MUST be completed with entry times. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have relevant times which qualify your child to enter. If they have not obtained a time at a recent gala then you must speak to the head coach to either attend a time trial or assess what time they can achieve. Otherwise, strictly speaking,
you cannot know that your child can meet the qualifying time and should not be entering.

Any times your child has achieved at a licensed meet  will be published on the ASA website for
your reference. Times for our own internal galas are not obligatory, but preferable.

Please also adhere to the closing date as published. These dates are decided on to enable me to check the forms and send them off to the organiser/submit them electronically in plenty of time for their closing date, taking into account my own commitments/working hours
etc.

 Non-adherance to either of the above results in unnecessary delays in submission which could potentially exclude the club from entry.

I have therefore had to make the decision that WITHOUT EXCEPTION any entries submitted after the closing dates or without times will not be submitted.

Worksop Dolphins Gala is to take place at Ponds forge, Sheffield on Saturday 1st September 2012. Full details and forms are now available on the Open Gala page.

Saturday 31st March is the second round of the Micro League gala's and it's our home gala at Chorley.

As I am sure you are all now aware, our entries to the Wrexham gala were not accepted before the organiser had to close the gala due to being oversubscribed. Galas are governed by strict guidelines re no. of swimmers/events and though the organiser is hugely apologetic they have had no choice in the matter. It was strictly on a first come first served basis which is why Chorley had an early closing date. Unfortunately, although sufficient previously, it was not the case this year, as the gala closed 3 weeks before the published closing date, which is unheard of. I presume clubs who fell foul of this last year have all submitted their entries even earlier. For this I can only apologise, I am hugely disappointed as I am sure you all are, especially ones who have pre-booked hotels. Your entry fees are not lost. The cheques will be securely destroyed. If anyone prefers to have theirs returned pls e-mail me at c[email protected]. by Sunday 25th March.
You may wish to reconsider your entries for Blackpool Rocks for those who intended to split races between the two galas. Other gala options are currently being considered by the committee.

We are again this year collecting the Tesco vouchers for schools and clubs. If we collect enough vouchers we will be able to get some equipment for land training or stop watches for time trials.

Please get your friends and family to collect these vouchers and then hand them into someone at the club, or drop them in the post box under the notice board at all seasons.

The opening round of the Micro League season is upon us and is to be held at Dunes in Southport on Sat 24th March
Warm up is 5:00pm

IMPORTANT: we have been informed that spectator space is limited to 1 adult per swimmer via tickets which are to be handed out shortly.

Also on that basis it won't be economical to run a coach so could you please make your own way there.

Please note that as of this week the Junior squad will no longer have the option to swim until 9:30pm, this is to accommodate the Masters swimmers who can then make use of the 2 lanes from 9-10pm.

Also, Junior squad swimmers will be asked to swim on Saturday evenings from 5-7pm instead of 1-2:30pm Saturday afternoon.

That way the extra 30mins they lose on a Monday they gain on a Saturday.

A final reminder that the closing date for the Wrexham gala is this Sunday,  the 11th March 2012.
I will be at All Seasons during Sunday night's training sessions to collect the forms.
I am aware that some swimmers may be doing time trials that evening. Pls remember to bring their entry form with you. You will need to make sure that you get any times from Mary and complete the form and payment before you leave.
I will be submitting the entries the following day and will not be in a position to return to All Seasons again before I submit them.
Forms placed in post box after the end of the training sessions will therefore NOT be submitted.
