Brinscall Training Moved to Chorley - Sat 30th May

Due to shortage of numbers in training because of half term it's been decided to combine tomorrow's sessions together.

Can all JD & District swimmers who train in the morning at Brinscall please train at Chorley 5-7pm

Brinscall 10am-12pm Cancelled, train 5-7pm at Chorley instead

ENTRY DEADLINE for our Chorley Marlins’ Minis Gala (Saturday 20th June) is Friday 12th JUNE 2015.

The 31st Dukeries Open Meet
Ponds Forge Sheffield
Saturday 5th September 2015

Entries for the above gala are now being accepted. Age is as on 5th Sept 2015

This is an excellent opportunity to race in the 10 lane 50m Ponds Forge pool at Sheffield.
This pool has been home to the British National Age Group / Youth finals for many years.

Another bonus is that there are no lower qualifying times making the gala easy to enter for our swimmers. It’s quite rare to be able to enter a gala in a 50m pool that hasn’t got lower qualifying times.

Please Note:

This gala clashes with the Micro league Division A/B swim off that Marlins are almost definitely going to be involved in. If your swimmer has swum in the Micro league team this year, then you must speak with Head Coach Mary before submitting a race entry.

Closing Date is Sunday 21st June.

The journey to / from Sheffield can be done in a day but many people choose to stay over on the Friday night before the gala. The Premier inn on Angel street is within walking distance of the pool and is popular with swimmers / their families.

Clarification On Spinning Classes

Can we please clarify that should you wish to attend the spinning classes on Tuesday evenings at All Seasons, that you pay the £3 fee at the reception before the class starts.

As stated before this class is free to District squad only,

anyone else wishing to train should pay at reception before the class starts.

Mini's Gala Saturday 20th June - Open to all our Mini Marlins

An extravaganza of fun racing from 5pm including
Frontcrawl, Backstroke, Egg and Spoon and Sea horses.
RAFFLE - £1 a strip

Head Coach, Mary Parkinson, will decide which races are suitable for each swimmer.

SWIMMERS TO REPORT TO THE SMALL POOL AT 5PM ARE:
Nicola’s 5pm and 5.30pm teaching groups
Ewan’s 5pm and 5.30pm teaching groups

SWIMMERS TO REPORT TO THE MAIN POOL AT 5PM ARE:
Adam’s 5pm, 5.30pm and 6pm teaching groups
Ewan’s 6pm and 6.30pm teaching groups

Light refreshments and Presentation of Medals will take place directly after the Minis’ Gala at All Seasons Leisure Centre. There will also be a very SPECIAL GUEST visiting, so don’t miss out, fill in your entry form today!!!!!

Gala Entry is £5.00 per swimmer

Next Saturday is the next round of the North Lancs swimming league and it's our home gala, below is the teamsheet, can you please comment below on your ability as soon as possible.

Chorley Marlins Annual Sprint Gala 2015

CHORLEY MARLINS’ ANNUAL SPRINT MEET

Saturday 13th June & Sunday 14th June 2015

5pm-8pm on both days

There are NO QUALIFYING TIMES for this Internal Level 4 ASA Gala and is therefore open to all Marlin Swimmers from Alpha Squad up to and including Masters. This gala provides an opportunity to gain experience and confidence, check on progress, gain personal best times and gain official ASA recorded times.

As a competitive club, we are aiming for 100 % attendance.

Medals will be awarded to the top 6 swimmers in each age group and will be presented at our Presentation Award and Social Night on Friday 26th June (more details to follow).

Entry is open and will close on Friday 5th June, 2015.

Entry is AGE as on 14th June.
Do not submit any times, just print off the entry form and tick the races you wish to enter.
Races are £2.50 each.

Charity Event - Heart Research UK

Rossana's parents are holding their 2nd Charity swim on the 1st August at David Lloyds Leisure Centre Chorley, They are raising funds for Heart Research UK to see why they are doing this see www.rosannaogden.com The swim will take place in their heated outdoor pool from 14.00 to 19.00.
The swim is open to any age, last year Rosanna was the youngest at 4 yrs

Anyone wanting to take part in their event needs to register with them before the day.
