Whether by the sea, river or lake, the skills involved in keeping safe in open water are different to those in an indoor pool, where most swimming lessons take place. That’s why the ASA, the national governing body for swimming in England and the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea, want to tell you about Swim Safe. Swim Safe is an annual programme of improver swimming tuition and water safety sessions for all 7–14 year olds at beaches and lakes across England. And the best thing about Swim Safe is that it is FREE to attend Please visit http://www.swimming.org/swimsafe/all-about-swim-safe/ for further information, to view a promotional video and detail on how to book. Attached is a flyer for the location in the Northwest; Windermere, other locations are across the country. If you’re on holiday or on a day trip why not consider taking part. If your club swimmers are interested in open water swimming this may help as an introduction to the open water covering water safety and swimming tuition in a fun and safe environment. Please be aware that there will be no training at Brinscall on Sunday due to a few people having stayed up past their bedtime the night before :)
Do enjoy the presentation night on Saturday and as the NHS say please drink responsibly :) Please have a look for your name for the next round of the NL League at Leyland, and indicate your attendance or not.
Kathryn Pilkington will be on hand all this week during training at Chorley All Seasons Leisure Centre selling tickets for this weekends presentation night.
Please have a look at the team sheet below and indicate your attendance or not in the comments section below.
