 In partnership with Lancaster University, Swim England North West are in the process of arranging a number of online workshops for coaches, parents and athletes, of all ages and disciplines.
Workshops will cover the following topics:
The introduction session will provide individuals with an overview of the benefits of the programme and how it will be applied to each group. Places will be on a first come first served basis, however we will be recording the session for anyone who is unable to attend. There will also be an opportunity for any Questions and Answers. For individuals who will be on the zoom call together (e.g. families) please only book one place, allowing more individuals the opportunity to sign up. Deadline for booking your place is 9am, Tuesday 16th February 2021. Zoom details will be sent to all registered individuals following the deadline. Date: 17th February, 2021 Start Times: 7:00 pm End Times: 9:00 pm As it is all online members will need an adult with them, no online meetings can be held in bedrooms. To comply with the renewal deadline from Swim England we have had the bring the date forward to 14th February. As a club it has been decided that due to the current restrictions all swimmers should renew as a CAT 1 member until competitions resume. Once competitions and leagues resume members who are over the age of 9 years of age or turn 9 years old in 2021 will be asked to upgrade their membership to CAT 2. Swimmers will need to be registered and insured with Swim England to be able to swim once training resumes. If any swimmers do not renew their membership they will no longer be classed as club members and there may be space availability limitations in the future. The Swim England membership fee for CAT 1 is £16.20.

As previously notified, Swim England memberships are due for renewal by 14th February 2021 and membership forms have been emailed out. Mary has been on a meeting with other clubs from the North West. Swim England have asked for full membership fees for all members, CAT 2 for age 9 and over. However as a club it has been decided that due to the current restrictions that all swimmers should renew as a CAT 1 member until competitions resume. It is unlikely that galas / competitions will resume for some time after a return to training. Once competitions and leagues do resume members will be asked to upgrade their membership to CAT 2. Swimmers will need to be registered and insured with Swim England to be able to swim once training resumes. Despite the year we have had we hope you are well and are looking forward to returning to the pool, training and competing as soon as we can. It’s that time of year when we look towards membership renewal. Last year has been a difficult one and until we return to training we have decided to put the Chorley Marlins annual membership fees for squads of £30 on hold. The club membership you contributed in 2020, which we are grateful for, has enabled us to continue with our coaches development, with online courses attended by our support team and older swimmers throughout lockdown. We have also had three of our swimming members qualify as level 1 coaches and two qualify as level 1 swim teachers ready for our new season. However we have been contacted by Swim England and renewal fees are due by 14th February 2021. We will be emailing renewal forms to you shortly with details of Swim England membership and once we have returned details for Chorley Marlins membership.
