Each Year the Chorley Marlins participate in the Microleague Northwest Swimming League which is a competition for the younger swimmers who are between 9 and 12 years of age at the end on the current calendar year. It is made up of 3 Divisions with the Marlins currently participating in Division B against 8 other local clubs including, Burnley, Prescott, Blackburn, Halton, Liverpool, Leyland, and Garston. There are 4 swim meets planned between March and June which usually last around 2.5 hours and can be quite exciting to watch especially the cannon at the end where there is lots of swimmers screaming for their team. There is no arranged transport for these meets but families do often car share to make things easier. There is usually a small entrance fee for spectators.
The selected swimmers for the Marlins squad will be announced by Mary in the weeks leading up to each meet 😊.
